What can you use the app for?

Many people have learned that the online business card is an easy, inexpensive way to share professional and contact information with others. Being a virtual business card, there is no need to purchase paper cards that can be damaged or lost. As long as the recipient has internet access, they can view the card. DooID takes this concept and enhances it. Users can share a great deal of information, from their contact details to networks. DooID online business cards include basic contact details as well as social network profiles, links to blogs, and other popular places where the professional has made contributions.

What is the history and popularity of the app?

DooID was founded in September of 2009 by Per Schmitz. Today, the team is based in El Medano, Spain and includes only a couple of individuals. This does not hinder the functionality of DooID, which takes a simple service and makes it better. Today, DooID offers users many handy features including password protection options, theme choices, and much more.

What are the differences to other apps?

DooID takes an old concept and makes it even better. Business cards have been around for decades, while the online business card has been used for many years. These are both effective ways to share personal information, but most were very limited. DooID expands the potential of this valuable business tool by giving professionals a way to share a complete overview of all of their networks and contact details in a single place.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

The DooID homepage uses an attractive purple and grey color scheme that gives the site personality without reducing its professional nature. The application is easy to use and allows the user to add just about any popular social network they want to their page. Each template is well organized so professionals can easily find a style that suits their industry and offers a positive viewing experience to those they share it with.

How does the registration process work?

A new user can create their DooID by filling out the registration form found along the left hand side of the homepage. The form asks for a username (which will be part of the user’s DooID URL), a first and last name (which will be the user’s DooID title), an email address and password. After entering the information and checking the terms of use box, the user can submit the information by clicking the grey button at the bottom of the form. The site takes the users directly to the dashboard so they can begin filling in their DooID page.

What does it cost to use the application?

One of the downsides to purchasing paper business cards is the price. Quality cards with fancy embellishments can cost quite a bit, especially if the user wants to update the information on them once in a while. DooID offers three membership plans, with the first being the free plan. The free membership includes privacy and protection features, v-card, quickshare, up to 10 services and 10 contact items added. The first paid membership is the Pro which costs around $3 per month and upgrades to include unlimited services and contact details, full layout library access, full style library access, pro add on options, contact form, resume, and no advertisements. The Business plan costs about $10 per month and includes a custom design, company logo and custom button.

Who would you recommend the application to?

Any professional or company looking for a better way to share their contact information and social network profiles can really appreciate DooID. Building an online business card is fast, simple and customizable. The user can select from three affordable plans and begin sharing far more information than they could with a traditional paper business card.

  • Include contact details and contact forms on your DooID page (with specified memberships)
  • Add links to social network profiles such as Twitter, Facebook and many more
  • Post an image or company logo (with specified memberships)
  • Post a resume to highlight strengths and compliment profiles
  • Update information quickly and easily without having to purchase business cards
